Top Tips for The Best Night Out

It’s officially “we outside” season! Day parties and brunches have returned, so it is time to defrost and reignite our social lives. So, we’re going to give you some tips and hacks for a successful night out!
First of all, plan ahead. Decide what you want to wear, and who you want to go with and how you’ll get there. This will help you feel more confident and prepared for the night. Checking out the details prior can help you budget for things like food, drink and cabs and whether you can use your card or need cash.
If you have twenty-four hours to go, here are some on-the-clock hacks:
1. Drink a lot of water consistently throughout the day before to flush out your system and keep your skin radiant.
2. Get a good night’s sleep! You will feel refreshed and alert so you can be fully present at your event.
3. If you are a skincare babe, start a hydration-focused routine one hour before your makeup to boost that glow! Pro tip: Try to stay away from trying any new beauty treatments, facials or hairstyles too close to the time. You might be unhappy with the results or have an adverse reaction that will not go away in time. Nobody needs that.
4. Dress for the occasion. Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Consider the dress code of the place you are going to. FaceTime the girls for their advice, and try things on beforehand also. To save money, try to piece together what you already have in your wardrobe. Remember, it’s not a crime to re-wear an outfit!
Good to remember :
- For a boozy brunch; drink in moderation, stay at your own pace and keep hydrated with water. Unfortunately, we have got to be hyperaware of our surroundings in social settings, one thing is to never leave your drink unattended, and if you do, get a new one!
- Leave home with a fully charged phone and carry a power bank or charger if possible too. Take group photos and videos for the memories, but live in the moment and try to stay off your phone the majority of the time. On TikTok, there is a trend of girls taking a flip phone out with them to force themselves to be immersed in the moment and not distracted by scrolling!
Plan B: Make sure you have a backup plan if something goes wrong. This could include having a friend pick you up, knowing the location of the nearest taxi stand or public transportation, or having a place to stay if you can’t make it home. Always let someone trusted know where you are going and who you are going with. Avoid walking alone at night, and be aware of your surroundings too – the night is bound to be more enjoyable when you feel safer.
Lastly, don’t be afraid to start conversations and meet new people. Smile and mingle, really make the best out of the night, you never know who you might meet…
